Faculty who wish to teach next semester's class entirely in a computer classroom should contact Laura Scott to request placement into a computer classroom in Innovation Hall. Please make your requests early; not all requests will be able to be accommodated.
Composition faculty who teach full-time in a computer classroom may be asked occasionally during the semester if they are willing to trade classrooms for a day to allow other composition faculty to have access to a computer classroom. If you know in advance that you will be out of the classroom (during a conferencing week, for instance) please contact Shelley Reid with that information, so that we can make your classroom available to other faculty.
Each semester, faculty teaching ENGL100/101 are required to spend the equivalent of one week of class (or more, if desired), in sequence or spread over the term, teaching information technology skills, to include word processing (as needed), e-mail, and use of library databases.
Faculty teaching ENGL302 are expected to work with students on library databases used in their majors.
To reserve a computer classroom on an ad-hoc basis, use the online reservation form. When you make your reservation, please indicate one or more second-choice dates; this will enable the schedulers to accommodate your requests more efficiently.
Faculty should make their requests as soon as possible; these rooms fill up quickly, particulary mid-week and midday. Check the Composition Announcements page for updates about scheduling each term.
See what's available globally : All faculty can (with some patience) use the university's online system to see what classrooms are available on a particular date.
