Distance Learning Courses

There are two options for English 302 distance learning.

  • Full distance learning section
  • Hybrid Section (Distance learning and in class session combined)

About Distance Learning English 302

These sections fulfill the general education requirement for English 302 (students must achieve a grade of C or better to pass). There is a significant amount of writing and research. A major research paper is required. Class activities (discussion, response to drafts, paper submissions) will be conducted online using the internet and other computer mediated software.
Academic Prerequisites

All academic prerequisites must be met to be eligible for registration. If you complete the forms but you have not completed the prerequisites, you cannot register.

  • completion of 45 credit hours (may include transfer hours accepted by GMU)
  • completion of English 100 or 101
  • completion of 200-level literature
  • met with your advisor to determine which section you may be required to
    complete.

Required Technology Skills

Each instructor has technology skill requirements. You may find that by visiting their websites.
Required Technology Access

  • GMU email account
  • regular access to a PC connected to the Internet
  • software requirements for each section (contact instructor for specific information)

Enrollment is open but limited to 22 students. Please visit the links to each section for detailed information.
Waitlist Policy & Procedures

Distance learning instructors will not force-add into full sections. You may place yourself on the waitlist at https://patriotweb.gmu.edu. Make sure that you read all wait list policies and deadlines.
