Mason Writes: a Celebration of Composition Students’ Writing

Congratulations on Your Nomination to Present at Mason Writes: A Celebration of Composition Students’ Writing!

Your professor selected you and your writing as representative of the exceptional work students complete in the Composition Courses at Mason.

This exciting event, which will be held February 23, 2027 in George's (JC), is an opportunity for you to showcase a research project you completed in a composition course (ENGH 100, 101, or 302). You may choose to present a multimodal project you designed as part of your course (e.g. a poster, video, flyer, etc.) or to revise a text-based assignment into a new genre that is appropriate to share with attendees at this event.

The event includes food and drinks throughout the day, as well as prizes awarded by different groups on campus. This is a great chance to invite family and friends to see the work that you're doing. Most importantly, it’s a chance for you to share the work you’ve done with the broader community, practice presenting your research in front of others outside of the classroom, and add a line to your resume (yes, this can go on your resume!)

Please review the information on this page before registering for the event. You can register by filling out this form.

If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Courtney Wooten (cwooten3@gmu.edu) or Ariel Goldenthal (agoldent@gmu.edu).
